Sosbuzz Origins

Sosbuzz began development in 2006 when our founder, Raffi Sosikian, having worked for over a decade optimizing websites for search engines, became frustrated with search engines that are not catering to customer needs. Instead of concerning themselves in creating natural market conditions where the best businesses who offer the best deals rise to the top, search engines are mostly concerned with delivering search results where the company that pays the highest per click fee gets prominent listing in the paid search results. Since only the first page of the search results receives the lion's share of visitor traffic, this auction based pay-per-click model leaves millions of small to mid-sized companies out of the marketplace and concentrates paid search results on the larger players.

The artificial market conditions created by these search engines make it nearly impossible for a majority of companies to be found, as they provide an enormous leverage to a handful of larger companies that can get away with charging much higher fees due to the artificial lack of competition in the marketplace.

The Sosbuzz patent-pending search and invoicing model has leveled the playing field. Sosbuzz is a privately held company headquartered in Glendale, California.

Raffi, who was called "Sos" growing up, started his first site, eps-usa.com, in 1996, years before Google, Facebook and others. As a teenager he was an amateur boxer who was trained by the late great Archie Moore (boxing hall of famer who was Muhammad Ali's former trainer). A true blue computer geek, Raffi who holds an MBA, had briefly worked as a banker for one of the largest banks in the world. While there he began to develop a certain disdain for corporate greed. He knew he did not belong in that world.

He is the founder of Sosbuzz.com, along with many other sites including RegisterEverywhere.com, one of the oldest search engine optimization companies in America. Having worked with over 18,000 business owners for over a decade, Raffi wanted to create a site that meets the needs of businesses, shoppers, and the causes shoppers care about.

Raffi believes the Sosbuzz model will inspire shoppers to apply overwhelming pressure on large corporations to donate far more money to worthwhile causes; not their own corporate foundations where they can funnel funds in and out, but well established charities that are out there making a real difference in people's lives and communities. Raffi is married and absolutely loves dogs.
